Lab Members
Raphael Gottardo
Position : Principal Investigator
Interests : Computational biology, Bayesian inference, Flow Cytometry, ChIP-Seq, Sequencing, Gene expression, Mixture models
Short Bio: I obtained my PhD in statistics at the University of Washington. After that I was an assistant professor of Statistics at the University of British Columbia before joining the IRCM as research unit director in computational biology.
Arnaud Droit
Position : Senior bioinformatics programmer
Interests : Computational biology, Cancer Informatics, Protemics, Integrative and systems biology
Short Bio : I completed my PhD in 2007 in the laboratories of Guy Poirier and Jean Morissette at the Laval University in Quebec city where I studied the algorithms of proteins identification in mass spectrometry. After, I started a post-doc in mass spectrometry to study the identification of phospho peptides by mass spectrometry. After that, I was an bioinformatics develloper in a pharma company (Genizon Bioscience) before joining Raphael Gottardo's lab. I am working on statistical methods for high-throughput data of genomics.
Greg Finak
Position : Postdoc
Interests : Computational Biology, Cancer Informatics, Genomic and high-throughput technologies, Bayesian statistics, Integrative and systems biology
Short Bio : After completing my BSc in Biochemistry at McGill, I spent some time doing protein NMR before moving entirely to computational biology. I completed my PhD at McGill in 2008 with Michael Hallett and Morag Park, where I studied the influence of the breast tumor microenvironment on clinical outcome. I am now developing computational tools for the automated analysis of high-throughput clinical flow cytometry data.
Eloi Mercier
Position : M.Sc. Student in Bioinformatics (at UdeM)
Interests : Bioinfomatics, genomics
Short Bio : This is my 1rst year in M.Sc of Bioinformatics at Université of Montréal. Previously I've obtained a B.Sc. of Bioinformatics at Université Lyon 1. I'm working on motif and cis-module discovery.
Marie-Pier Scott-Boyer
Position : PhD student in Bioinformatics (at UdeM)

Position : Alumni
Interests : Bioinformatics, High-throughput genomics, Bayesian inference, Microarray, Flow cytometry, Bayesian model averaging, Mixture models, Clustering, Mixed effects models
Short Bio : I am currently working as a postdoc in computational biology at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. There, I've joined a multi-disciplinary group led by Roger Bumgarner, Adrian Raftery and Ka Yee Yeung, among many scientists from the Microbiology and Statistics Departments as well as the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, to participate in exciting projects of constructing gene regulatory networks using microarray data, proteomics data and documented evidence.
Kaida Ning
Position : Alumni
Interests : Bioinformatics, ChIP-Seq, Sequencing.
Short Bio : I am a second year master student with Raphael. I am interested in the biological relationship among genes and how transcription factors work together to regulate gene expression level.
